Palatine Climbs Above 0
Temperature reaches 3, though wind chill is still around 12 below.
Palatine is experiencing positive temperatures for the first time in nearly 40 hours as the mercury climbed to 3 above zero Tuesday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
Though the wind chill is 12 below zero, the current forecast no longer calls for sub zero temperatures in the seven-day projections. Wednesday's forecast is partly sunny with a high of 12 degrees.
Schools and other organizations are expected to be reopen Wednesday.
