More Snow Headed Our Way

A winter weather advisory will take effect at 10 p.m. Friday and continue through 6 p.m. Saturday.

Get those shovels ready — more snow is expected to fall overnight.

A winter weather advisory is in effect for Palatine and all of Cook County from 10 p.m. Friday through 6 p.m. Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. The snow will fall mainly across southern Cook County starting later this evening with two to five inches expected by late Saturday afternoon for that area, according to the NWS.

Between one and three inches is expected for central and northern Cook County, according to the NWS.

The majority of snow for Palatine will fall after midnight, according to the National Weather Service. For Southern Cook County, the snow could fall at a rate of a half-inch per hour.

The snow could limit visibility for those traveling and will be wet, which means it will be hard to shovel. Those who must travel should take extra caution while driving, according to the National Weather Service.
