Spend Earth Day Cleaning up the Deer Grove East Forest Preserve

On Saturday, April 21 volunteers from area environmental groups will remove brush from an area forest preserve.

Sierra Club Northwest Cook County Group, Openlands, Forest Preserve District of Cook County, Friends of Deer Grove East, and Deer Grove Natural Area volunteers are hosting an Earth Day celebration at the in Palatine.

The groups are planning for 200 attendees. Attendees will remove invasive brush from an oak grove immediately adjacent to a picnic shelter by the parking lot. Participants will include a Cub Scout troop and families from the area. The event is open to the public.
