Rooney Knows that Love is Blind

Hi there! I’m Rooney, a very sweet and loving 8-10 year old corgi mix who is a romantic at heart.

You see, I was one of the lucky dogs rescued during . I am a fantastic little guy, whose luck was just about to run out when Young at Heart found me.

Being an older guy who has limited vision, well, I’m not everyone’s first pick for adoption. But Young at Heart Pet Rescue saw past my cataracts, and saw my smiling face, and boy oh boy! I was so excited to get out of that cage! My tail wagged and wagged, and I just kept shoving my head into the hands of all the volunteers so they could pet me more. They instantly fell in love with me, and I did with them. No one minds that I can’t see very well – and I have heard that love is blind, too!

I received a bumper-to-bumper check up with the doggy doctor, and other than my limited vision, I’m a healthy guy! So you probably want to know more about this limited vision – it’s not a big deal!

I can definitely see shapes and shadows, but beyond that, probably not too much. But dogs like me? We have great sniffers to help us get around! We meander around a house just fine once we get to know it. Of course, there are a few things that would help me adjust easily; a one-level home, and a family of adults would help me tremendously. And a fenced in yard to help me learn my boundaries and not wander off would be best to keep me safe. Oh, and love. Lots of it!

What about other critters, you ask? Well, I get along with mellow dogs, and have no problem with cats. I prefer quieter buddies. I’m very content to just be your companion, and I enjoy slow leisurely walks as well. Just let me know when we get to the curb!

I’m neutered, up to date on my vaccinations, and microchipped, and my blood test results say I’m doing just fine.
