Play in Pink to Fight Breast Cancer

Pink Out Sand Volleyball Tournament in Palatine benefits the American Cancer Society Saturday.

The tournament starts at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15 at the Twin Lakes Recreation Area at 1200 E. Twin Lakes Drive in Palatine

Spaces are still available to participate in the Pink Out Sand Volleyball Tournament that includes three brackets of doubles teams; men's, women's and a coed bracket.

Sarah Fader, by a volunteer for the American Cancer Society organized the tournament. Fader said, “It is not only rewarding but having lost multiple grandparents to cancer I know I am doing my part to ensure that a cure is found.”

All playing levels are welcome and if you can't make it out for the event you can still support by buying a t-shirt; or if you aren't an avid volleyball player feel free to come cheer on the teams and volunteer.

The Salt Creek Rural Park District will host the event the Twin Lakes Recreation Area and their concessions provider, RoccoVino's will provide each participant with a drink voucher for the day.

Waist Up Imprinted Sportswear is sponsoring the event by helping cut down on t-shirt costs, and sponsors like the Chicago Wolves, Chicago Rush, Fitness 19, Francesca's Tavola and Cafe 14 have all generously donated prizes for winners.
