Noel's Holiday Wish – A Home of Her Own

An adoptable Cocker Spaniel's letter to Santa.

It’s me, Noel! I’ve been a really good girl this year, so I’m hoping that you will bring me what I want most – a family.

Yes, I did have a family, but for reasons I don’t understand, they never came to get me when I wandered off. I didn’t meant to wander off, but because I have limited sight, it was hard to find my way back home. The people at the pound were really nice, but they ran out of space because of other cats and dogs that lost their way, and I heard them talking about my time being up. But now I’m safe with Young at Heart Pet Rescue until a family is found for me.

As you know, I’m a happy girl. I’m eager to please, love people, and am just fine with other dogs. I’m 8-years-old, housebroken, love car rides and walks, and am oh-so-cute! If my former family had given me daily eye drops, I would still have my sight, but alas, they didn’t. I have adjusted well to life with limited vision. I “see” with my ears, and am quick to learn. The rescue has me on daily eye drops now, and I’ll have to stay on them for life, but they make me feel so much better!

I am very, very sweet and the rescue keeps telling me that somewhere out there is a family who knows how to care for such a good dog like me. I believe them. After all, it’s the season of miracles, and I’ve already experienced the miracle of having my life saved when it was almost too late! Now I get a second chance at a happily ever after!

So please Santa, could you send me a family for Christmas? One with a secure yard and lots of love? And maybe one with squeaky toys, too! Could you tell that lovely family to fill out an adoption application to arrange a visit with me? I’m healthy and spayed, up-to-date on my vaccinations, and microchipped. My adoption fee of $165 allows Young at Heart Pet Rescue to help other older dogs and cats like me get a second chance at a happily ever after.

Thanks, Santa! I promise to be a good girl all year long!
