Palatine-based charity, C.A.T.I.F. [Celebrating All That Is Feminine], will be hosting its 5th annual Pay it Forward fundraiser

The event will include silent and live auctions as well as raffles, and be held at Durty Nellie's, 180 N. Smith St., Palatine. Monies raised will benefit at-risk girls who receive services from Kappa Kappa Gamma GIRLS Academy and women veterans who utilize the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center.

"C.A.T.I.F. is a non-profit 501c3 that has been raising funds for already established non-profits throughout the Chicagoland area for over five years," said Kara Cermak, C.A.T.I.F. president. "We began as a small group of professional women looking to make a difference in the lives of women and children that need help."

C.A.T.I.F. hosts two large fundraising events each year; Pay it Forward in February and a Family Block Party in the fall, in addition to several smaller events.

Funds raised are directed toward chosen charities whose mission mirrors that of C.A.T.I.F. - to encourage and empower women and children in the Chicagoland area who are experiencing crisis.

Tickets for Pay it Forward include appetizers and two happy hour cocktails. The cost is $50 if you purchase online and $60 at the door.

Pay it Forward will be held on Friday, February 28 from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Durty Nellie's, 180 N. Smith St., Palatine.
