WATCH: Nancy Kerrigan Back in Olympic Spotlight 20 Years Later

It’s been two decades since she was skating for an Olympic gold medal, but Stoneham native and Lynnfield resident Nancy Kerrigan is back in the spotlight this weekend.

NBC will air “Nancy & Tonya,” a documentary on the 1994 Olympic games in Lillehammer, Norway, and the events leading up to them, at 7 p.m. Sunday, prior to the Closing Ceremonies of the 2014 Sochi games.

The documentary, which was previewed on the Today Show Friday, features new interviews with both Kerrigan and Tonya Harding, whose husband at the time was charged with attacking and injuring Kerrigan so that she could not compete.

While Kerrigan was named to the Olympic team and went on to win a silver medal, Harding was stripped of her championship titles and never skated professionally again — despite her insistence that she played no role in the attack.

Kerrigan has remained silent on the attack, until the Sunday documentary. To see the preview, which includes a new clip of Kerrigan, watch the video above.
