The Best Short Cut?

Are you still looking for a short cut to a successful business? Try this!

In my last post, I presented a specific path for getting clear about what you want your business to create for you. If you haven’t completed that exercise yet, stop reading and go do it. Whether it’s completed by accident or intentionally, it is absolutely key to building a business that delivers on your dream. Peter Bregman, Harvard Business Review contributor, emphasizes this in his book, 18 Minutes: Find Your Focus, Master Distraction, and Get the Right Things Done. So if you think you can find a shortcut to this, don’t waste your time, just do the work! The best short cut is no short cut at all.

Business owners often lose sight of their goals, and this is typically a result of their inability or unwillingness to see beyond their blind spots and take immediate action. Today’s economy is changing more rapidly than ever before. The pace of change is mind boggling. This means that small to midsize business owners need to remain competitive to survive and thrive.

The top dangers affecting your business today have the power to slow or shut down your company tomorrow. At times, as business owners and managers, we can’t see our blind spots. Worse yet, we don’t leverage rapid impact strategies to get control of our business. Since business is changing so rapidly today, so must we. But we must know where we’re going if speed is involved.

Who is in control?  We’ll it’s the captain of the ship. You have to focus on the right activities when you’re in business…the things that will drive revenue and profits. So, stop looking for a short cut, develop your vision, and the focus this brings will have a profound impact on your future.

If you’re having trouble getting your vision in place, call me. I can help!

Next we’ll look at why so many small businesses suffer from underperforming Sales. You don’t want to miss it!

Have a wonderful and SAFE Thanksgiving Holiday.
