MARK YOUR CALENDARS: District 15's last day of school is June 6

The last day of school in District 15 will now be Wednesday, June 6, and it will be a half-day of classes for first through seventh grades.

The last day of school of the 2011-12 school year in Community Consolidated School District 15 was approved by the Board of Education at its April 11 meeting.

The last day of school will now be Wednesday, June 6, and it will be a half-day of classes for first through seventh grades. Kindergarten and early childhood classes will dismiss for the summer a day earlier—Tuesday, June 5—and the school year will end for eighth-grade students after their graduation ceremonies.

  • Carl Sandburg Junior High: Monday, June 4, at 6 p.m. at Rolling Meadows High School, 2901 W. Central Road, Rolling Meadows
  • Walter R. Sundling Junior High: Monday, June 4, at 7 p.m. at Palatine High School, 1111 N. Rohlwing Road, Palatine
  • Plum Grove Junior High: Tuesday, June 5, at 6 p.m. at Fremd High School, 1000 S. Quentin Road, Palatine
  • Winston Campus Junior High: Tuesday, June 5, at 7 p.m. at Palatine High School, 1111 N. Rohlwing Road, Palatine
  • John G. Conyers Learning Academy: Tuesday, June 5, at 7 p.m. at Conyers Learning Academy, 2800 Central Road, Rolling Meadows

According to the District’s official 2011-12 calendar, the school year had been scheduled to end on Wednesday, June 13. However, in planning the calendar, five emergency days are included, and when they are not used, the Board of Education traditionally shortens the school year by any remaining unused emergency days.
