The District Fifteen Educational Foundation is participating in the “Got2Run … for Education” 2012 inaugural run/walk to benefit wellness in school children.
The race will be held Saturday, May 19, at 8 a.m. in Arlington Heights, and it will feature a 2.62-mile “Micro Marathon” run/walk, and an 8K (4.97-mile) run. Early registrations are accepted through 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, and cost $15 for students and $25 for adults. A portion of the event’s proceeds will benefit the Foundation.
Northwest Road Runners, Inc., the local, nonprofit running club that was recently established for the purpose of organizing a kid’s running race in Chicago’s Northwest Suburbs, is hosting the event. Its goal is to get kids and their parents interested in running as a healthy lifestyle choice, not just for this year, but for the rest of their lives.
