District 15 sets dates for ‘Meet Your Teacher’ and ‘Walk Your Schedule’ events

The first day of classes in Community Consolidated School District 15 is set for Monday, August 27, for Grades 1–8, and Tuesday, August 28, for kindergarten and early childhood students.

Before classes convene, students and their families will be able to visit their schools to meet their teachers or walk their schedules.

Two District 15 junior highs—Plum Grove and Walter R. Sundling—will be open Thursday, August 23, from 1–2 p.m. for students and parents to walk students’ class schedules. Winston Campus Junior High will offer students and parents a “Walk Your Schedule” opportunity from 1:30–2:30 p.m. the same day, and Carl Sandburg Junior High will do the same on Friday, August 24, from 1-2 p.m.

Also, 14 of the District’s 15 elementary schools and John G. Conyers Learning Academy have scheduled “Meet Your Teacher” opportunities on Friday, August 24, from 1:30–2:30 p.m. Stuart R. Paddock School’s “Meet Your Teacher” event will be held the same day, but from 1–2 p.m.
