District 15 names new principals for Pleasant Hill, Jane Addams

Community Consolidated School District 15 announced two new administrative appointments for the 2012-13 school year on Friday, May 11.

Community Consolidated School District 15 announced two new administrative appointments for the 2012-13 school year on Friday, May 11.

David Morris, Jane Addams School’s principal for the past four years, will serve as principal at Pleasant Hill School next year. His position at Jane Addams will be filled next year by Monica Petersen, the school’s assistant principal for the past four years.

Both appointments are effective July 1, 2012.

DAVID MORRIS

Mr. Morris joined District 15 in 2008 when he accepted Jane Addams’ principal position. Prior to joining the District, he served as principal of Newport Elementary School in Beach Park School District 3 for three years. He served as the school’s assistant principal for a year before accepting that position. Before joining District 3, he served as a music and physical education teacher at Spring Woods Middle School in Hanover Park for seven years.

Mr. Morris holds a bachelor’s degree in physical education from Illinois State University, and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Aurora University.

MONICA PETERSEN

Mrs. Petersen joined District 15 in 2001, and served for seven years as a third-grade teacher at Gray M. Sanborn School. Then, in 2008, she accepted her current position as assistant principal at Jane Addams.

Mrs. Petersen holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Eastern Illinois University, and a master’s degree in teacher leadership from Roosevelt University.
