WHY I CHOSE TO RUN WITH THE REPUBLICAN TOWNSHIP TEAM

Why Assessor Terry Kelly chose to run with the Republican Township Team.

by Terry Kelly, Assessor

I am running unopposed in Tuesday’s Primary.  Rather than sit back I have decided to run with Linda Fleming and the Republican Township Team.  I cannot think of a more community minded group than our team.  I am very proud to be associated with these individuals.

LINDA FLEMING.  Supervisor Fleming has balanced the Township budget for several years now after having inherited a rather large deficit.  Also, through the use of volunteers, Supervisor Fleming has increased programs, such as the Food Pantry, without raising taxes.  If there is a community project the Township is supporting odds are you will find Supervisor Fleming volunteering her time and efforts.

JOHN POWERS.  Highway Commissioner Powers has reduced his tax levy by over $150,000 the last 4 years.  The tax levy is the dollar amount requested by the taxing body in order to run their operations.  Also, Highway Commissioner Powers has saved taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars by not only rebuilding and refurbishing equipment but by running a safety first operation.  The Township has been able to receive a credit of over 10% (experience modification factor) in property/casualty insurance thanks to virtually no work comp losses in over 15 years.

CHRIS ADRIAN.  Chris Adrian has volunteered his time on the Township Cemetery Committee.  Chris was instrumental in helping draft revised cemetery rules and regulations.  Chris coaches both soccer and basketball programs and is very aware of our community needs.  Chris’ extensive business background in the insurance area will ensure that the Palatine Township has the most cost effective insurance available.

DEBBIE McGUIRE.  Debbie has also volunteered at numerous Township programs, such as Adopt-A-Family and most recently the electronics recycling events.  Having active Trustees who participate in Township programs will enable the Township to provide the services and programs our community needs.  Debbie’s extensive para-legal background will benefit all Board members.

VINCE FARINA.  Trustee Farina was instrumental in saving the Township thousands of dollars when a new telephone operating system was put in place.  Trustee Farina’s extensive knowledge of copiers also helped Palatine Township save taxpayer dollars when new contracts were being looked at.  Trustee Farina, through his extensive connections in Rolling Meadows, has helped promote Township programs.

JOHN MATHIAS.  John Mathias previously served on the Township Board.   Trustee Mathias’ extensive “business owner” background was instrumental in the Township seeking out, and receiving, lowered insurance premium costs.  Extensive review of financials by John also ensured that the Township was on its way to balanced budgets.

I am proud of our team and know they will do a superb job for our community.  On behalf of our team I ask for your vote on each and every member this Tuesday, February 26th.   Thanks.
