- A trip to the pool: As temperatures soar, a local outdoor pool is a great way to cool off while still getting some fresh air. Palatine has three outdoor pools, check out the Palatine Park District website which has more information on the pools.
- A trip to the library: The Palatine Public Library has several programs, especially for children, to check out during the summer months. There are also programs available for adults and teens.
- A cool treat: Rock 'N Roll a la mode, at 45 N. Bothwell St., is a fun place to get out for some ice cream or a shake on a hot summer evening. For fro-yo, check out Yumz at 581 E. Palatine Road and cool gelato can be found at Signature Sweets. Looking for a fabulous margarita? Mexico Uno at 15 N. Brockway St. in Palatine has got you covered. Evergreen St. The theater not only offer various showings, but also a bar in the lobby, updated seats in the theater and a table to allow visitors to dine in while watching the movie.
