Fremd Sports Wrap: Golf, Cross Country Teams Win Invitationals
Boys' Golf and Girls' Cross Country lead the way with three-peats.
Zach Isoda and ruled the links at the Dundee-Crown Invite for the third consecutive year earlier this month as the boys’ golf team scored a 313 at Randall Oaks Golf course in Algonquin.
“We were the only team to have three individuals in the top ten,” said Fremd coach Josh Teschner, whose team is 8-1 and in second place in the MSL West.
Isoda, who is a Junior, finished fifth with a score of 74. Jack Daddono was 9th with a 77, Josh Rosenzweig was 10th with a 77 while Jack Finis had an 85 and Jamie Drost carded an 86 to round out the Vikings’ team.

Meanwhile the Girls’ Cross Country team came up with a three-peat of their own on Saturday by winning the Blue Devil Invitational in Gurnee with 73 points.
Kelly Breen captured the title by winning the race with a time of 17:46. Katie Filosa was 11th, Megan Moroney 19th, Morgan Brauer 20th, and Ayako Higuchi finished 22nd for the Vikings.

The Boys’ Soccer team came off a successful week by posting three victories to raise their record to 8-2-1 and 5-1 in the MSL West. Steve Keller’s crew rolled past Wheeing 4-2. Goalkeeper Colton Caesiues then posted a pair of shutouts as Fremd edged Rolling Meadows 1-0 and blanked Hoffman Estates 3-0.
Harry Winter led the Boys Cross Country team to a 4th place finish at the Libertyville Invitational with 86 points. Winter, who twisted his ankle early in the race, finished 5th with a time of 15:59. Nick Vucovich was 18th, Jake Winter was 19th, Danny Johnson was 20th and Matt Jackson was 24th for the Vikings.
