Fremd High School Swimmers Compete at State Meet

The state meet was held last weekend.

Fremd High School swimmers competed last weekend at the state swimming and diving competition at New Trier High School in Winnetka. 

Freshman Daniel Suero placed third in the 50-yard freestyle for athletes with disabilities, second place in the 100-yard freestyle for athletes with disabilities and first place in the 100-yard backstroke for athletes with disabilities, according to the Illinois High School Association website.  

Andrew King finished in 11th place in the 100-yard freestyle and in 10th place in the 50-yard freestyle, according to the IHSA website. 

The Fremd High School swimming team took 36th place overall at the state meet.

Daniel placed second in the 50 free. Also note that this was the the first year swimmers with disabilities were permitted to swim at state. Additionally, Daniel made a cut time for the international Paralympic Games to be held in Minnesota in April.
