Fremd Finishes Second in Girls Tennis Sectional
Four Fremd High School tennis players have earned a trip to state after placing at the sectional tournament.
The Fremd High School girls tennis team placed second this past weekend at its sectional at Lake Park, according to the Illinois High School Association website.
The Fremd team scored 17 points, placing second behind the sectional champions from Barrington High School who scored 28 points. Three high schools tied for third place with 14 points: Lake Zurich, Elk Grove Village and Rolling Meadows.
The doubles teams of junior Caroline Freeman and junior Alice Zhang and jurnio Maggie Hanna and senior Allison Tomal have earned a trip to state after placing in third and fourth place, respectively, at sectionals, according to the IHSA website.
The state final tournament will be held Oct. 24 through 26 at Buffalo Grove High School.
