2nd Annual Wellness Place Community Cancer Walk/Run

Wellness Place, Cancer Education and Support will celebrate cancer survivors, their families and caregivers at the 2nd Annual Wellness Place Community Cancer Walk/Run on Saturday, May 14, 2010 at Harper College in Palatine, IL. Event activities include a 3K Walk and 5K “Fun” Run followed by a balloon release ceremony to include survivors and those who have been touched by cancer. Registration will begin at 8am with opening ceremonies at 9am, the 5K Run kicking off at 9:30am. The 3K Walk will begin shortly after at 10am. The goal of the Wellness Place Community Cancer Walk/Run is to raise funds to support Wellness Place as well as to celebrate survivors and remember loved ones. Help us help those who use Wellness Place services today, and those who will enter our doors tomorrow. People of all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate in the 3K walk; the 5K portion is held for energetic runners who would like to participate in a non-competitive and fun event. All donations will be used solely for the purpose of fulfilling the Wellness Place mission, “To provide education, support and understanding at no charge to those affected by cancer.” Proceeds raised from this event will fund programs and services to all who enter the doors at Wellness Place. With every step you take and with every dollar you raise, you are helping make a significant difference in the lives of people with cancer, as well their loved ones and caregivers.
