The Chicago Bears have hired Marc Trestman of the Montreal Alouettes as its new head coarch, the Chicago Tribune reported.
Although Trestman worked in the NFL for years as an offensive coordinator and quarterback coach, he has been in Canada for the last five years. Trestman led the Alouettes to back-to-back Grey Cup Championships and compiled a 64-34 record, the Tribune reported.
Trestman worked with the Oakland Raiders and quarterback Rich Gannon in 2002, the year Gannon won the MVP. He also has worked with multiple quarterbacks, including Steve Young, Jack Plummer, Scott Mitchell and Bernie Kosar. A detailed breakdown of Trestman's career can be found at his website.
