Illinois Rated Worst State For Small Business Friendliness

Illinois received a failing grade in small business friendliness, according to a survey by Thumbtack. 

Illinois received the worst rating in the survey. Rhode Island and California also received failing grades. Connecticut and New Jersey received D grades. 

The survey looked at several issues, including: 

  • Business-friendly licensing regulations
  • Ease of filing taxes
  • Tax rates
  • Government-sponsored training programs
Utah, Idaho, Texas, Virginia and Louisiana received the highest rating for small business friendliness.
