Quest Academy Students Participate in NAIS Virtual Science Fair

Quest Academy students participate in NAIS Virtual Science Fair

Earlier this month, fourteen Quest Middle School students, comprising of five research teams, are participating in the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) Virtual Science Fair. Over the remaining four weeks, they will select a research one aspect of a broader topic that they have selected, create an experiment, and share their results.

In addition to the guidance and mentorship of Mr. Stoffregen, each of the research teams are being mentored by a scientist or science teacher from another location outside of Quest. These eMentors check in with our research teams weekly to provide additional resources and guiding questions to push and challenge our students to do the best science that they can. This provides students an opportunity to communicate and collaborate with science professionals from around the world.

In mid-March, we will select the best two teams. These teams will then advance to the National competition, competing against the winners from each of the 21 middle school teams from around the country . At this level of competition, teams will compete for the national title.

The top national teams will then get a chance to compete with the top teams from International Schools for awards.

We wish our teams the best of luck and will report back our progress and our successes. We are excited to be participating in this opportunity.
