Two students who attend Fremd High School are the latest high school students from Palatine who have achieved a composite score of 36 on the ACT exam.
Mazin Bokhari and Yuki Koike recently earned the highest possible score on the exam, and join a group of other esteemed students who have achieved the same score during this school year.
Soumik Biswas and Fiona Helgren, also who attend Fremd, received a score of 36 in the fall, along with Jack Riedy who attends Palatine High School.
According to District 211, for many students this test serves as the gateway to making it into their first-choice for a college or university.
The goal is to receive the best composite score possible in the categories of science, mathematics, reading, English, and an optional writing test. Each exam is scored on a scale of 1-36, and a student’s score is the average of the four test scores.
More than 1.7 million students take the exam in the United States, and only 781 of those scored a 36, the District 211 website states.
