Palatine High School Student Scores Perfect on ACT

junior Emily Liquin scored a perfect 36 on the American College Test (ACT).

Liquin acheived the perfect score in February. A 36 is the highest possible composite score. The ACT is taken by about 60 percent of college-bound students. The test also is taken by all high school juniors in Illinois as part of the Prairie State Achievement Examination.

The ACT is comprised of tests in English, mathematics, reading and science reasoning. Each of the tests is scored on a scale of 1 to 36. A students ACT score is the average of the four test scores.
