Palatine High School Booster Club Raises Enough Money to Replace School's Marquee

Through various fundraisers, the group raised $25,000.

The Palatine High School V.I.P. Booster Club has reached its goal of raising $25,000 to replace the school's failing marquee.

After the , the car dealership donated $6,000 to the booster club. Principal Gary Steiger said bids are going on in the coming weeks for the job and it is expected to be completed by the start of next school year.

At the event, participants could test drive a vehicle, and Ford donated $20 for each test drive taken, and a maximum donation of $6,000 was pledged by the dealership, located at 801 W. Dundee Road in Arlington Heights.

The Palatine High School V.I.P. Booster Club had been leading the initiative to purchase a brand new marquee, due to it needing expensive repairs for the last couple of years.

“The marquee has not been working properly for at least two years," said Jan O’Brien, . "There have been many repairs, but at this point the sign has only half of the graphics functioning.
