Retired educators from District 211 are taking home pensions that are much higher than most educators in other districts across the state.
In 2012, 42.5 percent of District 211 retirees received over $100,000 in pension payments while the 630 total district retirees received an average pension of $86,982, according to the Daily Herald.
While six-figure pensions make up seven percent of the total pension payments in Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Will counties, less than one percent of retired educators in the remaining Illinois counties bring home that amount, according to the Daily Herald.
Please watch local residents address the unresponsive D-211 school board. Our local Palatine State Rep was there as well to show his support.
http://illinoispolicy.org/blog/blog.asp?ArticleSource=5456 It seems to me that the teacher supported union are the people destroying public education. They are shooting the golden goose in the foot with an assault rifle.
They have a budget of 272 Million and an enrollment of 12,400 students. Take their budget 272 million divided by the 12,400 students times 4 = 88,000.00 per student in D-211 for a high school education. How much is enough?
======== In a recent phone conversation with D-211 Superintendent Rob she pointed her finger at the State of Illinois. Which is it Mrs. Rob? Will D-211 Superintendent Rob be willing to share in this sacrifice by chipping in some of her $264 Thousand Dollar Salary? Maybe she can abate some of her generous pension back to taxpayers. We will see.
G.A. McElroy Administration Center 1750 South Roselle Road • Palatine, Illinois • 60067 • 847-755-6600 Leave a message for the entire board of education. At $88 thousand per student property tax payers can no longer afford the cost of a high school education in D-211.
The District 211 budget for the 2013 year is $285,477,000 (http://palatine.patch.com/articles/school-board-approves-district-211-tentative-budget). They have a student population of 12,546 (http://www.d211.org/pdf/current_profile.pdf). Now I can do simple math and I think John should be able to as well. 285,477,000 divided by 12,546 is not 88,000. It is $22,754.42. Now either John is really bad at math or he's ignorant of the facts. Either way, his statement of $88,000 per student is widely incorrect. But we wouldn't want to call John ignorant.
Secondly, citing the four year cost is something never done by anybody. You aren't taxed for four years at once, so why cite the four year cost? Each year of your taxes pays for one year of education. If you wished to pay for four years of education in one year I don't think 211 is going to stop you. But citing $88k is a pretty large number, so we can't be bothered by truth or reality to cite numbers appropriately.
Guy, please do me a favor and pass this youtube clip to everyone you know. We need to get a ground swell going to try and bring D-211 back to reality. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qG5oBYiUqrc
======== Please identify yourself. Your numbers and logic need to be corrected.

It's time for a change in this school board. Vote for the (1) candidate that has leadership qualities and no affiliation with this school district.
Vote Roman Golash for D-211 School Board Election April 9th. Roman Golash is the candidate this District needs. The current D-211 school board is oblivious to financial strain residents face. D-211 is a cash rich district that fights businesses like Block Buster to get even more money than it already has. The Superintendent told me that the enrollment in D-211 is 12,400. D-211's budget is 271 million (Daily Herald). This means that a High School education in Schaumburg costs taxpayers approximately $88,000 per student. How much is enough?
