Fremd Music Students Donate Hundreds to Charity

Members of the Tri-M Music Honor Society and other music students raised funds by selling t-shirts to benefit women and children who've experienced domestic abuse, homelessness and poverty.

Fremd High School music students recently raised hundreds of dollars to benefit women and children in need.

The Tri-M Music Honor Society, in addition to other music students at the high school purchased close to 100 ArtsFest t-shirts in an effort to support A.R.T.S. (Arts Refreshing The Soul), a non-profit organization.

A.R.T.S. provides creative resources for women in children who have experienced a range of adversity, including homelessness, poverty and domestic violence.

The students from Fremd sold the t-shirts, and were able to donate $533 to purchase arts supplies and music kits for women and children served by the charity.

This is the third year music students at Fremd have sold t-shirts to benefit those less fortunate. In 2011, funds raised were donated to the Joplin High School Music Department Tornado Relief Fund.
