Bullying: Prevention, Intervention & Response for Parents

This is a free program offered by the Northwest Suburban Council PTA, for all parents.  The presentation will be presented by bullying expert, Karin Stortz, LCSW.  Karin specializes in bullying prevention education and training for individuals, groups and organizations.  Her approach is thorough, evidence-based and solution-oriented, focused on transformative change rather than mere awareness.  In addition, she works with individuals, couples, families and children through her private therapy practice.
Karin will be discussing the following topics at our event:

  • Understand and define traditional and cyber bullying behaviors

  • Learn how to prevent bullying behaviors

  • Learn how to effectively intervene in bullying behaviors

  • Learn how to successfully respond in bullying situations

  • Learn the difference between "snitching" and reporting

  • Learn the difference between joking, teasing and bullying behavior

Tickets are not required to attend.
