District 211 Recognized for Overall Academic Excellence in State

District 211 was one of 78 school districts, out of 866 districts in the state to receive the SchoolSearch 2013 "Bright Red Apple Award." Only 25 of the 78 Illinois school districts serve high school students.

In recognition for academic excellence and overall positive educational institutions, Township High School District 211 recently received an award that puts it tops in state.

District 211 was one of 78 school districts, out of 866 districts in the state to receive the SchoolSearch 2013 “Bright Red Apple Award.” Only 25 of the 78 Illinois school districts serve high school students.

Judging criteria is based on five key factors, including academic performance, pupil/teacher ratio, expenditure per pupil, educational level of teachers, and average teacher salary. SchoolSearch, a consulting firm that publishes rankings of school systems. The firm’s data designated that District 211 was strong in all five categories.

The primary concern for the company is to provide information about school districts for families interested in relocating. All school districts in Illinois are considered, and the award criteria are based on objective factors to ensure fair judging.  This recognition is not new to District 211, as the District earned the award as recent as 2008.
