District 211 Proposes Tax Levy Increase

Several residents spoke up against the increase during a Thursday night board of education meeting, according to the Daily Herald.

Nearly a dozen people spoke up against a proposed 1.2 percent increase in the property tax levy within Palatine-Schaumburg High School District 211 at a board of education meeting Thursday night, according to the Daily herald. 

The total levy increase will be $2.5 million more than 2012, according to the article. The Daily Herald reports no board members spoke publicly about the levy during the Thursday meeting. 

The board will meet again on Nov. 14 where they are expected to decide on the amount of the 2013 levy and a public meeting is expected to be held before a final vote on Dec. 12, according to the article.
