D-211 Honored for Excellence in Financial Reporting

Township High School District 211 was honored recently by the Association of School Business Officials International.

The Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) International awarded Township High School District 211 with a Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting.

The award was for "excellence in the preparation and issuance of the fiscal year end 2010 school system Comprehensive Annual Financial Report," a press release from the district states.

ASBO International is a professional organization which provides programs and services to promote successful school business management practices, professional growth, and the effective use of educational resources, the press release states.

The organization created the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting Program to enable school business officials to achieve a high standard of financial reporting. The Certificate of Excellence Award is presented to school systems that adhere to sound principles and reporting procedures and have met or exceeded the standards of the program.

“We are extremely proud to be recognized with this award,” said District 211 Superintendent Nancy Robb.  “It is because of outstanding efforts like those of Associate Superintendent Dave Torres, Director of Business Services Chris Kontney, and the accounting team of Dianne Cieslak and Barb Peterson, who compile our financial reports, that we are able to maintain District 211’s tradition of excellence.”

This is the 4th consecutive year that District 211 has been recognized with the ASBO Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting award.
