Best Buddies Palatine Fundraiser Now Through Friday at Photos

Stop by Photos from noon until 9 p.m., mention Best Buddies and a donation will be made to the organization which works to enhance the lives of special needs children.

The Palatine High School Best Buddies Club is hosting a fundraiser at Photo's Hot Dogs, 301 N. Northwest Highway, through Friday, January 18.

Best Buddies is an international organization that works to establish one-on-one relationships between their volunteers and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, according to the Best Buddies website

All you have to do is stop by Photo's from noon until 9 p.m. through Friday, place your order and be sure to mention the Best Buddies fundraiser.

Money raised will support a variety of events hosted by the Best Buddies Club at Palatine High School, which this year have included meet and greets, and a Halloween and Christmas party enjoyed by students with disabilities who attend Palatine High School and are served by Best Buddies.

Palatine High School student volunteers develop strong relationships with their 'buddies', and according to Sarah McCauley, whose son Ryan is a member of the Best Buddies club. She said the relationships go beyond just 'hanging out'.

“The reason I am involved in Best Buddies is because I believe that everyone deserves a friend, and there is nothing like the genuine friendship of Best Buddies,” Ryan McCauley said.
