Bar and Bat Mitzvah's are on a roll at Orbit Skate Center

One of the most important events in a Jewish young man or young woman's life, their Mitzvah Celebration. Bar Mitzvah's are for boys, Bar means 'son of' and Bat Mitzvah's are for girls, Bat means daughter of, jewish lineage was denoted by who your parents were.

The religious ceremony typically happens at a Temple or Synagogue and these young people study very hard to learn Hebrew, the prayers and the parts included in the ceremony.

The celebration is after the ceremony or the next day. This is where we come in. Every family is different and want a different type of event based on childhood favorites, sports themes, movie themes and we've been honored to help families reach their child's dream affordably. Some of our latest themes have been 'Under the Sea', all done in ocean colors, sparkling marble vases filled with lights and special lighting. Another theme that's coming up in October is a Hollywood theme, complete with a red carpet, search lights, a 'Hollywood' banner up high and the bat mitzvah star is arriving in a Lamborghini with our general manager playing chauffeur. He stated that a movie star needs to show up in a hot car! We are certain her friends will have a stellar time.

Some of the Bar or Bat Mitzvah's are all skating, some are half skating and half dancing, it's really tailored to what the child wants.

Many families bring in outside vendors to fulfill dietary observances at different levels. We've had strictly Kosher families as well as Kosher-style. Some of the vendors include ice cream sundae bars, magicians, nitrogen ice cream vendors, all kinds of food vendors and sometimes we cater the event with food and drink either part or in total.

The beauty of having a facility such as Orbit Skate Center is having the ability to tailor private events and keeping it affordable. We hope this explains a little about our Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah events and the hows and whys!
