Village of Palatine: What's on the Agenda?

The Palatine Village Council meets tonight and a number of items are on the planned agenda.

The following items are listed on tonight's agenda and will be considered by the village council:

  • Special Use Amendment to change the floor plan and permitted activites at 647 S. Consumer's Avenue, also known as Hat Trick Hockey, by Salt Creek Park District. The park district would like to expand uses in the 30,000 square foot space to include soccer, basketball, archery, lacrosse, football, softball and fitness, day camps, sports birthday parties and the annual Halloween party.
  • Decreasing the number of Class H liquor licenses by one, due to Brandi's Banquets, 1170 E. Dundee Road, recently going out of business.
  • An intergovernmental agreement between the Village of Palatine and the Palatine Park District. Palatine Police currently police park property, and while most offenses committed fall under local village ordinances citations, some are specific to park district rules and regulations. No payment would be received by the village from the park district for the service. But, in circumstances when extraordinary police resources are needed by the park district, an agreement regarding reasonable reimbursement would be reached.
  • The 2013 Farmers Market dates from May 4 through October 26 during the hours of 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the train station parking lot. In addition to the regular market, approval also will be considered for six Winter Farmers  Market dates in 2013-2014 beginning November 16 through April 12 during the hours of 8 a.m. until noon. Additional signage promoting the market dates also will be considered.
  • Weekly car show, Cruz'n Friday Nights on Slade Street between Smith Street and Greeley and Greeley between Slade Street and Wilson Street. The dates would be May 3 through September 27 and would include up to 250 classic cars for viewing.

The Palatine Village Council meets in Village Council Chambers, 200 E. Wood Street, tonight at 7 p.m.
