Twin Lakes Hosting Spring Community Garage Sale Friday

Do you like bargains? Do you cruise garage sales on the weekend?

If so, you might want to stop by the , 1200 E. Twin Lakes Drive, Palatine, Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The Salt Creek Rural Park District will be hosting its Spring Community Garage Sale.

"A lot of our residents live in condominiums or apartments where they may not actually be able to have a garage sale," said Diane Hilgers, director of parks and recreation for the district. "Or they might not have enough stuff to have a garage sale by themselves."

Hilgers said 18 to 20 individuals has registered for the sale. Each will sell various items from 8 foot tables.

"You name it and we've pretty much had it [at the sale]," Hilgers said.

Those who participate in the sale have the option of donating leftover items to the Salvation Army. Hilgers said the park district will pack up and deliver the items if people don't want to take them home.

Each table cost $10. Hilgers said there is limited space, but if someone was interested in participating in the sale and renting a table they could call Jessica Hart at 847-934-6050.

Salt Creek also hosts a sale in September.
