TIF Funds Go to Palatine Florist for Exterior Upgrades

Funding from the village's Tax Increment Financing district program will help breath new life into Kinsch's Village Florist and Garden Center, which is now planning $100,000 in exterior improvements to the 76-year-old business at 301 Johnson St., according to the Daily Herald. 

The Palatine Village Council approved a measure to would award the florist $50,000 in TIF funds — the maximum allocation awarded by the village — from its facade improvement program, which allows the village to split the total costs of improvements with qualifying businesses, according to the article. 

The floral shop plans to have a new sign installed by April 12 when it holds a grand re-opening, the Daily Herald reports.
