Sen. Murphy, Rep. Morrison to Host Palatine Recycling Event

The event will be held at Palatine's Quest Academy on August 11 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Northwestern suburban residents are being asked to bring out any gently-used or outdated items for an August 11 recycling event to be hosted by State Sen. Matt Murphy (R-Palatine) and State Rep. Tom Morrison (R-Palatine).

The event will run from 9 a.m. to noon at the Palatine Centre Parking Lot* off of Northwest Highway, between Benton Avenue and Plum Grove Road, located at 17 E. Northwest Highway, Palatine.

Several area non-profit organizations and recycling firms will be accepting donations or items meant for disposal. On-hand will be W.I.N.G.S Program, Habitat for Humanity, the Palatine American Legion Post 690 and other organizations.

Household items, gently-used clothing, electronics, building supplies, American Flags and CFL light bulbs are just a few of the acceptable items being collected. For a specific list, please visit www.SenatorMattMurphy.com. Items not being accepted are also listed.

*Please note the change in location. The event was orginally scheduled to be held at at the Quest Academy parking lot off of Northwest Highway located at 500 N. Benton Street, but has since moved to the Palatine Centre Parking Lot, 17 E. Northwest Highway, Palatine.
