Palatine Township Republican Primary: Crowded Field of Candidates

In the upcoming special primary election to be held on February 26, 2013, 17 of the 18 candidates are running in contested races.

There is a full field of candidates for the upcoming Palatine Township board special primary election; 18 candidates are running for eight open seats.

Two candidates each are running for supervisor, clerk and highway commissioner, while 11 individuals are vying for four open trustee spots.

The only uncontested race is that of Palatine Township Assessor. 

The candidates are:

Palatine Township Supervisor

  • Sharon Langlotz-Johnson (incumbent trustee)
  • Linda Fleming (incumbent)

Palatine Township Clerk

  • Kathy Allegretti
  • Lisa Moran (incumbent) 

Palatine Township Assessor

  • Terry Kelly (uncontested)

Palatine Township Highway Commissioner

  • Tom Kaider
  • John Powers (incumbent)

Palatine Township Trustee

  • Art Goes (incumbent)

  • Kevin McGrane
  • Julie Ann Johnson
  • Jason Hillebrand

A slate of candidates who call themselves Doing Things Better for Palatine Township consists of Langlotz-Johnson, Allegretti, Kaider, Goes, Pohlman, McGrane and Huley. 

Aaron Del Mar, Palatine Township Republican Organization chairman says Doing Things Better for Palatine Township is the slate that is offiicially recognized by the organization. 

The official Republican slate will be determined by who wins the primary for each of the eight open elected seats. 

Meanwhile, a group of candidates named the Republican Township Team includes Fleming, Kelly, Powers, Adrian, Farina, Mathias and McGuire.
