Palatine Garbage Collection Delayed; Village Working to Keep Roads Clear

Due to the weather, garbage and recycling collection for the Village of Palatine is canceled for Monday, Jan. 6.

From the Village of Palatine: Garbage collection delayed; crews working to remove snow from roadways.

Over the last 36 hours, snow accumulation has been persistent. Temperatures are expected to be below zero through Wednesday, Jan. 8. Salt and chemicals that are used to clear roadways loose much of their effectiveness at these very low temperatures.

Village crews are focusing on keeping roadways open and passable. Intermittent snow cover on roadways can be expected due to high winds blowing and drifting snow through the coming days. Please use caution when driving and stay alert changing roadway conditions.
