Palatine Approves PNC Bank Near Mariano's

The Palatine Village Council approved plans for a PNC Bank Monday.

The Palatine Village Council approved plans for a PNC Bank at their Monday meeting.

The bank represents the latest piece in the village's ongoing redevelopment of the area near 537 N. Hicks Road. Palatine's already is under construction on the northern portion of the property. To the south, a is planned.

PNC Bank will be located in an out lot in front of where Mariano's will be constructed. Baldwin Road would be used to provide access to PNC Bank off of Hicks.

A second retail building also is planned for the project.

Mariano's was approved by the village in December. Construction on the 70,000 square foot grocery store is expected to occur this year with an opening slated for early 2012.

The $23 million police station is expected to be completed by November 2011. The department currently is located on the lower level of 200 E. Wood St. and has about 37,000 square feet of space. The new department will be about 90,000 square feet in size, including a 20,000 square foot parking garage.
