Palatine Approves Lot, Residents Get Hot
Palatine's village council approves controversial parking lot expansion for strip mall on west end of town, the Daily Herald reports.
The Palatine village council voted 6 to 1 to approve a controversial parking lot expansion which brought protests from more than a dozen neighbors, according to the Daily Herald. The Inverness Cleaners Plaza at Palatine and Quentin roads can now expand its parking lot into what is now a grassy area that abuts to Walnut Street.
The owners of the strip mall tried to expand into the same lot in 2005, but were turned down by the Village Council at that time, the paper reports. Scott Lamerand, who represents District 2 where the expansion will take place, was the lone dissenter for the vote.
