Former Cook County Engineer Faces Federal Bribery Charges

A 52-year-old Elmwood Park man who was an engineer for the Cook County Forest Preserve faces federal bribery charges for allegations that he took $10,000 in kickbacks for contracts awarded for work on two district facilities, according to the Daily Herald. 

Joseph Mollica is accused of accepting $4,000 for a $16,500 contract for work done on the building and boardwalk at the Sand Ridge Nature Center in Calumet City and for taking $6,000 for a $24,900 contract for work done at the district's River Forest headquarters, according to the article.
