"Through discussions with staff, the petitioner indicates that the proposed vacuum structures adjacent to both the building and Northwest Highway are critical components to their business operations," village documents state.

The council granted approval on the condition that Karnezis incorporate a 10-foot landscape strip adjacent to the sidewalk along Northwest Highway to act as a buffer between the vacuuming area and the street. Presently this section of the property is paved.
