Building Inspections Increase by 40 Percent in Cook County

Cook County has increased inspections in unincorporated areas of the county, according to the Daily Herald.

Building inspections in unincorporated Cook County are up by 40 percent this year as the county aims to get businesses and multifamily housing complexes up to the same standards "set in neighboring municipalities," according to the Daily Herald. 

The county has also increased enforcement as part of an effort to upgrade its building inspection system, according to the article. In Cook County, there is 62 square miles of unincorporated land, according to the Daily Herald.
