8th District Results: Duckworth Wins With 66 Percent

Updates throughout the night on the Democrats vying for the 8th Congressional district in the Illinois primary.

after 9p.m., with about 50 percent of the votes counted, and after her opponent Raja Krishnamoorthi conceded.

As of 11:23 p.m., votes for Duckworth were at 66 percent. All of DuPage County results were in; 189 of 193 Cook County precincts were tallied; and 52 of 55 Kane County precincts were tallied. 

Duckworth will face incumbent Congressman Joe Walsh in November. Redistricting created an 8th district which covers parts of Cook, DuPage and Kane counties. The district covers parts of Buffalo Grove, Palatine, Barrington and Elmhurst. It runs west to Elgin and south to Lombard.
