UPDATE: Police Release Sketch of Suspect in Walgreen's Battery Investigation

Palatine Police received a 911 call the night of Dec. 17 from a woman who said a man approached her and implied he had a weapon as she loaded purchases into her vehicle at the Walgreen's on Euclid.

Palatine Police are looking for a male suspect who confronted a woman in the parking lot of Walgreen's at 805 W. Euclid Ave. at about 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 17 and demanded she get into her vehicle as she loaded it with purchases.

"While we do not know his intentions, we are considering every possibility and investigating accordingly," Palatine Police Cmdr. David Daigle told Patch. 

Police are categorizing the alleged incident as a battery/disorderly conduct.

When the suspect approached the victim, he had his hands in his pockets, implying he had a weapon, and a scarf covering his face pulled up to his eyes, according to police.

The suspect told the 33-year-old female victim to get into her vehicle. When she refused, the suspect repeated the demand then pushed against her with his upper body.

The woman began to scream and other shoppers in the area started to take notice. The suspect then backed away from the woman, pulled down his scarf and told her it was all a joke. The suspect then walked southbound on the east side of the Walgreen's.

The woman then entered her vehicle and drove a short distance from the scene to call 9-1-1.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5'5 to 5'7, who is in his late twenties or early thirties. He was wearing a black skull cap, tan jacket, scarf and construction boots.
