Burdick would not comment on the gender of the person found in the car and could not confirm the person's identity. The Chicago Tribune has reported that the occupant of the vehicle was a woman.

Burdick said the condition of the person pulled from the vehicle also was not available at this time.

The vehicle was being pulled from the pond at about 3:05 p.m. Burdick said the pond was located on the north side of Harper's campus, near Roselle Road and Euclid Road.
