Two Injured In Palatine Apartment Fire

Two people were injured Tuesday in an apartment fire.

One man was injured in an apartment fire in the 1400 block of Carol Court Tuesday.

The Palatine Fire Department received the call at about 6:32 p.m. Firefighters arrived on the scene to find fire and smoke showing from the window of a secon floor apartment.

Fire officials said that there were four people in the apartment at the time. The Cook County Sheriff's Department arrived before firefighters and were able to help evacuate the building, a press release stated.

A man suffered minor burns and a woman had to be transported for a medical condition while firefighters were on the scene. Both individuals were transported to Northwest Community Hospital.

Fire officials said that the other five units of the building still were habitable despite the fire. Damage to the building was estimated at $57,000. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
