UPDATE: Tornado Warning Canceled

Palatine no longer is under a tornado warning.

The National Weather Service just updated its site and removed the tornado warning for the Palatine area.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning  until 9:30 p.m. for north central Cook County.

At 7:53 p.m. Doppler radar indicated a severe storm line capable of producing "brief rain-wrapped tornadoes" as well as "straight line wind damage," according to the National Weather Service.

The current warning is for eastern Lake and northeastern DuPage Counties and central Cook County until 9:30 p.m.

The National Weather Service states that people should "go to a basement or a small interior room on the lowest floor."
