Surveillance Cameras Capture Palatine Bank Robbery

Two suspects who robbed the Chase Bank at Quentin Road and Euclid Avenue in Palatine Monday afternoon remain at-large.

More details have emerged from Monday's robbery at the Chase Bank at 825 W. Euclid Ave. in Palatine.

Two masked men robbed the bank at approximately 3:10 p.m. Monday. There were six customers and 12 employees inside the bank at the time, said Palatine Police Cmdr. David Daigle.

It was a customer in the bank's drive-thru who alerted police to the robbery. Daigle said the customer could see people inside the bank with their hands in the air, and was able to flag down an Inverness Police officer whose squad car was parked at a nearby Walgreen's.

The first offender climbed over the teller counter and accessed cash drawers. The second offender stood in the lobby area with his hand in his pocket in such a manner as to imply having a weapon.

A search for the suspects was conducted by Palatine, Rolling Meadows and Schaumburg police, along with a K9 unit and Cook County Sheriff's helicopter, but the suspects were not located.

Hours before the Palatine robbery on Monday, Charter One Bank in Rolling Meadows was robbed by a suspect described as an older white male. Daigle said authorities do not believe the robberies are connected.

A surveillance photo of one of the suspects was posted at bandittrackerchicago.com. Both suspects, described a black males, were wearing dark hooded jackets, black ski masks, white gloves and black shoes.

Palatine Detectives along with special agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation continue to investigate the matter. Anyone having additional information is asked to contact the Palatine Police Department at (847) 359-9000.
